How to watch Lions vs. Vikings on TV or a live stream
In metro Detroit, the easiest free option is an antenna. FOX 2 (WJBK) broadcasts over the air on channel 2, so a basic indoor antenna picks it up with no subscription. Cable and satellite customers will find it on their local FOX channel. Our Detroit TV channel guide lists the antenna channel for every major local station.
If you don’t have cable, you can still stream it:
- FOX One: FOX’s own streaming service carries FOX’s NFL games, including this one, and offers a free trial for new users.
- NFL+: streams local and national games live on phones and tablets. Both teams list it for this game.
- Live-TV streaming services: any service that includes your local FOX station will show the game.
- Outside Michigan and Minnesota: whether you can see it depends on what your local FOX station airs at 1 p.m. ET. If it isn’t on locally, NFL Sunday Ticket carries out-of-market Sunday afternoon games.
Watching at home: a 4-step Sunday checklist
- Saturday night: set any manual clocks back one hour (DST ends at 2 a.m. Sunday).
- By noon Sunday: rescan your antenna or sign in to your streaming app so updates and log-ins don’t eat into kickoff.
- 12:45 p.m. ET: tune to FOX 2 or open FOX One or NFL+, and check that the Lions-Vikings game, not another 1 p.m. game, is on your feed.
- In the car or yard: switch to 97.1 The Ticket so you don’t miss a snap.
Prices and trial terms change often, so check each service before Sunday. For a season-long breakdown of every channel and app, see how to watch the Detroit Lions in 2026.
Lions vs. Vikings on the radio
The Lions’ flagship station is 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM), with Dan Miller calling play-by-play and Lomas Brown as analyst. Minnesota fans can follow the game on KFAN and the Vikings Audio Network.
What’s at stake: an unbeaten Minnesota team comes to Detroit
This is the first of two meetings between the NFC North rivals this season. Minnesota arrives 6-0 after a 16-10 win over Indianapolis on Oct. 25. Detroit comes in 4-2 after beating Green Bay 20-17 at Ford Field the same day. Jared Goff threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns in that game, Jameson Williams caught both scores, and Jake Bates won it with a 22-yard field goal.
The matchup to watch is Detroit’s passing game against Minnesota’s defense. The Vikings have allowed 74 points in six games, about 12 per game, and haven’t given up more than 22 in any of them. Four of their six wins came by a touchdown or less, so expect a tight, physical game rather than a shootout.
Detroit also has a score to settle. The Vikings won both meetings in 2025: 27-24 at Ford Field on Nov. 2 and 23-10 in Minneapolis on Christmas Day, a loss that knocked the Lions out of playoff contention. Those two wins came after Detroit swept the 2024 series. Minnesota leads the all-time regular-season series 82-45-2, according to the Vikings.
When do the Lions and Vikings play next?
The rematch is Sunday, Dec. 20, at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC at U.S. Bank Stadium. Before that, the Lions visit Miami on Nov. 8 (1 p.m. ET, FOX). The full slate, including the Nov. 15 Munich game, is in our 2026 Detroit Lions schedule.
Don’t miss kickoff: clocks fall back that morning
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, the same day as the game. Kickoff is still 1 p.m. on Detroit clocks, now Eastern Standard Time. Phones update on their own, but an oven clock or car dashboard may run an hour fast and leave you rushing for nothing. Our guide to Detroit’s time zone and DST explains the change.
Going to Ford Field? A quick game-day checklist
- Check your bag. Ford Field doesn’t allow backpacks or camera bags. Read the stadium’s bag policy before you leave home.
- Book parking early. Reserve a spot in the Ford Field parking deck or a nearby lot ahead of time, and remember there’s no re-entry.
- Plan for the time change. You’ll get an extra hour of sleep, but traffic around downtown still builds well before kickoff.
- Check the inactives. Team inactive lists come out about 90 minutes before kickoff on the teams’ apps and websites.
